Ok, I'm redesigning my site (recently changed the domain name from www.benkevan.com to www.freetechie.com, and with the redesign of my site, the content categories will be restructured to be better organized and allow for better and more content. The current layout of categories is: Financial - Global - Stocks - US Personal - Ben Jr - Funny - Vacation Sports - Hockey - MMA - Jiu-Jitsu - Strikeforce - UFC Techie - Amarok - Arch Linux - BackTrack Linux - Fedora & RedHat - GNOME & KDE - Linux Mint - Microsoft - Moblin - OpenOffice - openSUSE & SUSE - PCLinuxOS - Scripting - Security - Ubuntu & Kubuntu - VMware - Web Browsers - Website News Here is my proposed category list: Linux Distribution News - openSUSE & SUSE - Fedora & RedHat - Ubuntu & Kubuntu - Arch Linux - Linux Mint - Mandriva - Google Chromium OS - Other Distributions Software News - Kernel - KDE - GNOME - LXDE - Moblin - Other Desktop Environments - Amarok - Google Chrome - Firefox - Opera - Wine - Wordpress Tutorial and How-To's - OS Installation Guide - Software Installations - System Administration Scripting & Security - Examples Virtualization - VMware - VirtualBox Off-Topic The main issue I'm going to have is the new home page will be split up of 7 sections (in the primary article space). Top one will be "Featured" type writeups, which will be linked to the parent category of Tutorials and How-To's. The remaining 6 should be tied to Parent Categories of some sort. I'll have more information later to add (covering more applications, more tech based topics and am looking at having some co-authors and contributors to help write about any topic technical (mostly based around Linux and openSUSE, and open source in general (with splashes of Affiliate and Web Marketing). I suck at making these category listing and would like if someone could offer me some advice, some suggestions, to help better organize the stuff. I need to have 6 categories tied to those other subsections in hopes that content isn't duplicated (as it currently is).
