hi dizzy... i don't know about the rest of these problems you're having, but ttyS0 = com 1 under windows.

I have the modem jumpers set on com1 irq 4 wvdial says its on ttyS0 (which is com 1??????) the bios setting for irq 4 is 3E8 - 3EF =irq4 and 3F8 - 3FF =irq4 Im really at my wits end with this and I'd greatly appreciate any help
