Kmail locks up on smime mail
SuSE 9.2 on an AMD64 box. Kmail is locking up tight anytime I try to open a piece of mail that is signed with smime. I've tried disabling the smime crypto backend in the security settings of Kmail, but it made no difference. Anyone have any pointers on where to look next. Googling didn't turn up anything useful that I could see. Scott -- POPFile, the OpenSource EMail Classifier http://popfile.sourceforge.net/ Linux 2.6.8-24.10-default x86_64

Nothing like answering my own question <g>. Seems that the problem wasn't limited to smime, certain pgp signatures also locked it up tight. After much experimentation, I determined that killing gpgkeys_hkp would unlock KMail. No clue why gpgkeys_hkp would go out to lunch, but my suspicion is the keyserver that was setup in ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf as the default was causing it. I changed it to hkp://subkeys.pgp.net and now the problem seems to have cleared up for the moment.
