Buddy, I had that happen the first time I booted Beta 1. After that all was normal. Jason

Hi Buddy, With the exception of 9.1, which I skipped, ever since 8.2 Pro I've installed KDE and Gnome side-by-side with no major issues ... until 9.3. If I'm not mistaken, the trick at installation seems to be to select Gnome as the default, go make a change somewhere else (like reset your time zone or something) so the Gnome default settings 'stick', /then/ return to make any detailed package selections that you want. I can't tell you /why/ this works, but it is my personal experience that it does. I also know that when I've deviated from this procedure, I've had Gnome go missing from the sessions menu at the login screen and "default" show up in it's place (which loads FVWM.) So, I think the problem you're experiencing is likely related to your package selections and is not unique to 10.0 beta2. Whether or not it's a "bug" is subject to interpretation. To be honest, 9.3 almost made me switch distros I had so much trouble. It took me a dozen trial and error installations to get the sequence and combination of packages just right, with both desktops running correctly. It was worth it, though. FYI, I'm running 10.0 Beta 2, also, with very few and minor issues related to switching between KDE and Gnome and back again. For certain I am not experiencing surprise FVWM sessions. And KDE and Gnome are both running beautifully. regards, - Carl
