I'm running SuSe 7.1 Netscape 6.X comes with it....and it runs, but it taked 50 seconds to load it and it crashes frequently. Tried to do the online updates with Netscape and the ftp engine pukes....so the updates won't work. Konqueror is great and fast, but won't run some stuff. What's a good browser to use that will run on SuSe?

I'm very happy with Mozilla .9 -- the first release that've made me abandon netscape 4.77 -- Mads Martin Joergensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort." -- A. P. J.

Yep, Mozz is probably your best bet! Go to: www.mozilla.org Get it straight from the source. Cheers, Curtis Rey On Wednesday 16 May 2001 16:40, Mads Martin Jrgensen wrote:

Mozilla and Opera. Mozz is not quite to version 1.0 yet so it still has a few bugs but I personally like it better then NS 4.x. The latest version is 0.9, a new one usually comes out every 5 weeks or so. it's a good idea to get the new ones as they come out. Opera 5.0 for linux just came out today. Opera's pretty nice (haven't gotten 5.0 yet), but beware: it's adware. And not Open Source like Mozilla either. ---------------------------------------------------- Jonathan Wilson System Administrator Cedar Creek Software http://www.cedarcreeksoftware.com Central Texas IT http://www.centraltexasit.com

I've heard this before, but in my experience Konqueror is extremely sluggish, much more so than Netscape. I like it, I think its features are great, and actually it has opened every page I've ever tried, but it is too damn slow. So I use Opera for all but the few pages it won't open. It's incredibly fast, even if I have many windows open. It's not adware if you pay for it. I paid for the Windows version, and the Linux download counted as a $15 upgrade. Personally, unless you have ideological reasons not to, I recommend springing for Opera. It's just possible that what is best for all of us is not to have everything open source, but to have some things open source, and some things done by small, dedicated companies like Opera.
