[opensuse] Bug reporting for LibreOffice distro from Opensuse repository
I'm to trying to find out how to post a bug report for LibreOffice distro from Opensuse repository. It's a simple bug affecting page headers in reports created by Report Builder in Base. I posted bug report 107215 <https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107215> on LibreOffice Bugzilla where other tests appear to confirm that this is a distro specific issue and does not affect their download packages, so they are no longer interested and recommended I report it to Opensuse. So I posted bug report 1036830 <https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1036830> on OpenSuse Bugzilla but as I am running OpenSuSe 13.2 (out of support), they won't fix on my report, but say that "this [package] is not provided by SUSE, packages are provided by community/openSUSE". I do not believe that this bug is OS related (and the other reports appear to confirm this). As the bug is in the currently available LogoopenSUSE Build Service > Projects > LibreOffice:5.2 > libreoffice <https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/LibreOffice:5.2/libreoffice> (v5.2.6.2) for OpenSuSe 13.2 x64, I would like to report it so it can be fixed. How can I do this? Thanks. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks. Problem might be that the bug doesn't exist for later openSUSE versions and 13.2 is past it's EOL You might consider installing 42.2 in a VM and see if it has the bug.

The other thing to do, is download the offical version from the LibreOffice website and see if the bug exists there. If the bug exists on the upstream version, then post to the LO developer list if you need help. Development is proceeding apace. though, so that bug could already be well squashed. As suggested, I've now replaced the OpenSuse distro edition of LO with same version downloaded directly from LO website - this has resolved the issue for me. This bug has also been reported on TDF bugzilla (#107468) by LEAP 42.2 user, so I believe that it is OpenSuse repo/build related. Evidently it's important to realise that distro editions can be significantly different from master editions, eg install and config subfolders are different for each edition. OpenSuse users converting to TDF edition may want to restore the soft link to 'soffice' (ln -s /usr/bin/soffice /opt/libreoffice5.2/program/soffice). Thanks to all for your interest & help.

Well, you simply can not report a bug for anything in 13.2, and that's it. Basically you need to upgrade to 42.2 and try there. In your report you say that the package is provided by SUSE. It is not, it was provided by openSUSE, a community. But also you are not using the official package, you are using a package from a build service repository. On some repos there is a link somewhere to report a bug, but in LibreOffice:5.2 I don't see it. So you would have to try to reproduce the bug using 42.2 and that repo, and if the bug is present, report against that repo for 42.2. Maybe that action would correct the problem for 13.2, but it could also happen that they would delete the 13.2 repository instead. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. The easiest and best way to report a bug against a development package from obs is go to Maintainer finder tool: https://maintainer.zq1.de/# enter the name of the source package (you can find the source package name with "rpm -qi <package>") and then click on the "Source-Package:" link and then in the Web UI of the package click on "Report Bug" link. This will setup the bug report with all the correct information. Regards Dave P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

github is very common for upstream now. Just get an account. FYI: opensuse is using it for its own upstream very often now. Greg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, I know, but I'm not a developer. I don't want to waste resources on sites I'm not going to use productively, in this case by adding another account. So I guess it's time to give-up trying to report the page header bug. Let's hope the extended discussion here comes to the attention of the maintainer. On 02/05/17 21:42, Carlos E. R. wrote:
