smart accepts multiple versions of kernel packages
Happened to use 'smart' when the latest 10.0 kernel change came along. As far as I can tell, everything was installed properly. When I later did 'apt-get update', it warned me the kernel -default and -syms and -default-nongpl and -source packages were duplicated on my system. Had not realized that the 'smart' update had left the previous versions of those packages still sitting on my system. To keep 'apt-get' happy, I manually removed the leftover versions of those packages. mikus

that was the normal behaviour of any other distro I've used before SUSE (and YOU updates) .... Leaves one with a "surely" functional kernel in his system, so when the new is clearly ok one can remove the old kernel with light spirit ... bye ! -- nicola .:kOoLiNuS:. losito http://kool-solutions.blogspot.com http://www.koolinus.net icq: 62837984 jabber-id:koolinus@jabber.linux.it Y!: koolinus msn:koolinuz@hotmail.com callto://nicola.losito
