I am also curious if Caldera (it's too painful for me to call them SCO), has patent rights and not just copyright. There is a huge difference there. With a patent, your "idea" is protected, but a copyright protects the actual contents. If Linux code implements the same ideas/concepts as the copyrighted UNIX source code, then I doubt Caldera has a leg to stand on. My opinion is that they are cutting their own throats with this.
I hope we're correct on this! Remember, MickySoft bought into SCO. I'd bet that M$ is controlling what they do.
Actually Microsoft was given shares of SCO stock for allowing SCO to develop and market Microsoft Xenix (renaming it SCO Xenix). Initially it was about 17% (if I remember correctly) and eventually dropped to about 11+%. I also seen to recall that M$ sold off the shares in the mid '90s. If they had any left and it was common stock, then M$ no longer has shares of SCO but Tarantella. That's what happened to my common SCO stock when they sold out to Caldera.
