[opensuse] No sound to headphones
Hi, after installation of openSUSE 11.3 to Dell Vostro 1220 http://www.smolts.org/show?uuid=pub_b5e8a9b3-2a44-4453-8207-40f1ccc582b9 I found that after I plug headphones to the notebook, I still hear sound from internal speaker, but not from the headphones. It happens in KDE as well as in GNOME. When I boot from Ubuntu LIVE CD it works as expected. It did not happen when I was upgrading on ThinkPad. I'm not sure which information would help to solve it... I have actual system, nothing special. Also the hardware is ordinary... Any idea how to solve it? Did anyone faced it? Same problem on a Fujitsu-Siemens Esprimo. I thought that maybe I did something idiotic ...
Try updating your alsa/pulseaudio/asound/etc rpms using the steps described here. Just don't forget to replace 11.2 with 11.3 in repo names/urls. http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Alsa-update#openSUSE-11.2 Regards, Vadym On 10 August 2010 10:38, Daniel Feiglin <dilogsys@inter.net.il> wrote:

Uninstall / reinstall of PulseAudio changed nothing, as well as upgrade of sound packages from OBS... :-( I still hear sound only from internal speaker and not from headphones. I'm going to be desperate from this software bug...
