[opensuse] Polkit configuration and KDE integration
Folks, OpenSuSE included the package polkit-kde-kcmmodules in version 12.3. It seems this was dropped in 13.1, but the polkit and the polkit-kde-agent packages were kept. Was there a reason for this as it seems it would be needed to manage action policies from the desktop configuration. After some searching through packages on an older 12.3 system, finally pinpointed the missing package name and was able to download from http://rpm.pbone.net/. How do I go about having this package included in the next release? Hi Stuart, the package won't get back in any release, due to two[1][2] grave bugs, which makes the editor useless. Proper, and supported way for changing polkit privileges on openSUSE are via YaST and polkit-default-privs[3]. Cheers, Hrvoje
Thanks,
Stuart

Sorry, my previous mail was a bit ambiguous: general security level is adjustable in YaST - Security Center and Hardening, but adjusting _specific polkit actions_ is possible only via polkit default privs (no GUI - would be a nice YaST wishlist report ;-) Cheers, Hrvoje

/etc/polkit-default-privs.local is the local admin adjustable file for this. after adjusting it, run /sbin/set_polkit_default_privs Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
