[opensuse] 11.2/KDE3 - Firefox main menu has inverted colors
Always before it was black text on almost white backtground. Now since last updating, its main menubar (File Edit View History Bookmarks etc.) is light text on dark background, which I hate. It happens in both the openSUSE 3.6.8 rpm version, and Mozilla.org's 4.0b4. Am I the only one this is happening to? How can I make it go away, looking like before, and like most other apps? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." What is "last updating"? These colors are defined from the Gtk theme AFAIK. Do you use Gnome or KDE (or something else)? Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Using Firefox 5.0 in Windows 7, Win XP on the laptop, and PcLinuxOs, and the problem you mention does not occur in any of the machines. The Linux machine runs KDE 4.4.5. You might be running an obsolete version of F/F. --doug -- Blessed are the peacemakers...for they shall be shot at from both sides. --A.M. You mean the 3.6.8 & 4.0b4 you quoted might not be the latest versions? This was not the first I've seen this errant behavior, just the first time on my 24/7 oS 11.2 box. I checked several of my many other boxes & OSs (2 WinXP, 1 Fedora, 1 other oS) and FF profiles, and none I checked were doing it. Then I dropped to runlevel 3, did another zypper dup (getting another 60+ updates), logged back into KDE, and expected FF behavior has been restored. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Following up my own mail: the version number I have quoted is incorrect, caused by my own stupidity. I looked at the first number shown in the help-about window, and did not realize that the F/F version number was not the first (Mozilla) number encountered. The correct values for the F/F versions are as follows: Win 7 Pro 3.6.8 Win XP Pro 3.6.8 PcLOs (Desktop) 3.6.6 KDE 4.4.5 PcLOs (Laptop) 3.6.3 KDE 4.4.3 Mea culpa! (I have just now learned that KDE 4.5.1 is available, but I have not yet upgraded to that.) --doug -- Blessed are the peacemakers...for they shall be shot at from both sides. --A.M.
