Thank you, folks. Leendert Meyer had the first reply, and of course, once you know how, it's simple. I have done as I promised, and taped the solution to my keyboard. I don't know where the date is stored, or why it should get corrupted. I never even turn this machine off. Does anyone have a clue as to what might change the date and the year? --doug
