Hi all... I've got a couple of files that are too big (ca. 60 - 70mb each) to get into audacity to edit. How can I break these files up into, say, 5 to 10 minute size? And then put them back together when I'm done editing? I just loaded a 63.9 MByte MP3 file into Audacity and it worked just fine. There must be something wrong on your end. Are you working with limited RAM or small swap space? Don Henson

Mmm both? I have about 290mb main memory and the same swap. What it seems to me is that Audacity imports MP3 as wav files. That would make a 64mb file about 640mb alot too much for my RAM. I'm going to work more on it in the morning, Thanks, JIM -- Jim Hatridge Linux User #88484 ------------------------------------------------------ BayerWulf Linux System # 129656 The Recycled Beowulf Project Looking for throw-away or obsolete computers and parts to recycle into a Linux super computer WartHog Bulletin Info about new German Stamps http://www.fuzzybunnymilitia.org/~hatridge/bulletin Viel Feind -- Viel Ehr' Anti-US Propaganda stamp collection http://www.fuzzybunnymilitia.org/~hatridge/collection

Are you sure you are using the > 1.2.0 version of audacity? With older versions there are problems on linux machines. ain
Hello, I have a suse ver 9.0 running a apache 2 web-server, is it possiple to load front page extension? And connect for making administration fron a frontpage windows client? And HOW-TO? Thanks in advance. Tage.
My webhost uses apache and they have FP extensions setup. Not sure how they did it, but at least you know it can be done. Tom On Mon, 2003-12-29 at 12:31, Tage Danielsen wrote:

It's an absolute nightmare. And yes, it can be done, I THINK I have it setup on my SuSE 8.1 box, but it's horrible to debug. I can publish, but cannot import. I guess that's ok, one of my clients demands it, otherwise I would never bother. Here's where you want to start: http://www.rtr.com/fpsupport/ Get ready for much gnashing of teeth though, probably one of the most painful install procedures I've ever seen, especially if you are using Apache 2.0 and virtual hosts. OK this is not the exact answer to your exact question but look at WebDav. You can "mount folders" in IE and they can edit files with their preferred Windows editor as if they were local (sort of).
