Hi Is there a known issue with kernel 2.4.0, that it does not compile... Or to be more exact, it does compile okay, but in the final step of "make bzImage" it fails. I'm able to build all modules, and install them. make bzImage gives this error: ----------- ld -m elf_i386 -Ttext 0x0 -s -oformat binary bbootsect.o -o bbootsect ls: cannot open binary: No such file or directory make[1]: *** [bbootsect] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.0-4GB/arch/i386/boot' make: *** [bzImage] Error 2 ------------ So I'm not able to have new kernel that would support USB... I must live with the 2.2.18 kernel, that I did compile. Any ideas? Jaska.

You should go with 2.4.9--it's a lot newer. -- Mads Martin Jørgensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort." -- A. P. J.
Hi I would like to, but those M$-kind-of-thinking-people in hightpoint-tech did write the driver module for HPT-370 RAID chipset as binary, and bound to either 2.2.16 or 2.4.0.. Jaska. Viestissä Perjantai 24. Elokuuta 2001 20:08, Mads Martin Jørgensen kirjoitti:
