Printing Problems with SuSE v10.1
Am I alone in identifying a problem with the YAST printer setup utility? I have now installed v10.1 on three different PCs and have found exactly the same problem for each as follows: If YAST is used to install a printer and then the 'Test' option is used, there is no output to the printer. Also, printer output from other apps such as Open Office and GIMP then remains stuck in the print queue. Rebooting the PC (and avoiding the 'Test' option) allows printing to proceed normally. I don't recollect having this problem with SuSE v9.1 or earlier versions. Also, is there any reason why there should now be two entries for parport0 in /proc/ioports, one for the correct port address (eg 0378-037a) and one for 0778-077a. Again earlier versions showed only a single correct entry. Thanks Ken Hough
