[SLE] Can't update - No product ID

Hi, sorry to add to the multitude of updater posts but this one's really got me. Firstly, I have no "Online Update" icon in YaST's control centre even though I have installed the yast-online-update package. I thought this might be because I hadn't configured the update system yet but when I tried I got an error message saying that there was "no product to register". After some googling, I found out that this was because I had no product ID files in /var/lib/zypp/db/products/ and that the fix was to run a system upgrade to the same version (10.1). Needless to say that the upgrade didn't fix my problem so does anyone have an idea of how to generate a new product ID? I really don't fancy reinstalling the entire system with no guarantee that this won't happen again. Thanks in advance for any pointers. Cheers, James. PS I have installed the "updater update" as per Andreas Jaeger's post. Also, I removed and re-added my single installation source (ftp://ftp.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.1/inst-source/) to no avail. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
