how to make windowmaker the default wm??
Hi guys, Does any one know how to make WindowMaker the default window manager on SuSE or possibly the only choice. I did update the /etc/sysconfig/windowmanager to set that parameter. Tried looking up an .xsession file in my home but could not find one. I found an .xinitrc.template which goes though a list of window manager to be found in wmlist script I delete everything but window maker still did not work. Any clues? thanks in advance. george ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca

You have to run suseconfig after changing that; and it only works for new users. Old users will have their own preferences saved, and they don't change automatically. Probably you also have to change the DISPLAYMANAGER var in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager. By default it is kdm, and that one depends on kde. I use wdm, but xdm is another alternative; gdm depends on gnome.

I would not change system templates... -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
