Just got finished installing SuSE 8.2...very nice. I was wondering if there was a repository such as apt-get in Debian or urpmi in Mandrake for SuSE packages that I could use. I have found usr-local-bin.org in the archives for some packages that I want, but wanted to know if there was something to address other software as well as helping with dependency resolution. Use a mirror, though -- it's a lot faster. mfabian, for latest freetype and font-config (lots others), meissner, for Wine, kssingvo, for CUPS and of course mantel for testing kernels. And thanks to all the guys who have created these RPMs and made them available. Saves a lot of time downloading, configuring and making. Cheers! Jason, all the above repository can be accessed from 1 location: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.2-i386/ The names of the directories refer to the sites/locations you mentioned.
Doesn't help with your dependency issue, but I've had little or no probs with these sites. Richard has mentioned Apt4RPM. HTH,
