NFS server takes forever on startup ?
Hi, I had some problems with unrealiable nfs (probably my settings were wrong). Then I ran exportfs -r and from then it takes quite a lot of time to start nfs with no apparent messages in logs. This also happens on boot - it takes approx 3-4 min to start nfsserver. I'm not sure but if this changed but it now says "starting kernel based nfs server"... Any setting to check, how to solve this ? Thanks in advance, Robert.

Hi. We had a similar problem when we were changing the ip's of our clients and had too many entries in our /var/lib/ nfs/rmtab file. Might be worth a look. Steve.

Hi, You'll find the answer in /etc/init.d/nfs, around line 48. This solution works for me and for maany others. HTH.

Hi,
I've checked further and "exportfs -r" is running sooo long. If I switch on
verbosity nothing apparent is dipslayed.
I've checked /etc/exports and it seems like exportfs behave same on only 1
entry...
Any advice ?
Regards,
Robert.
