Hi: Does anybody knows how to get the colores for the syntax highlighting working in VIM? I have version 5.7. Thanks in advance, Raúl _______________________ Raul Gutierrez Segales oxford@campoalto.edu.py

Look at the ~/.vimrc file. To activate syntax highlighting, make sure it reads as follows. " We use a vim set nocompatible " " Colo(u)red or not colo(u)red " If you want color you should set this to true " let color = "true" " if has("syntax") if color == "true" " This will switch colors ON so ${VIMRUNTIME}/syntax/syntax.vim else " this switches colors OFF syntax off set t_Co=0 endif endif " ~/.vimrc ends here I hope that helps. -v -- Victor R. IIRC, just edit your $HOME/.vimrc file and set color = "true". -- JVOLLMER1@MN.RR.COM TEXT REFS DOUBLEPLUSUNGOOD SELFTHINK VERGING CRIMETHINK STOP IGNORE FULLWISE END

Yep, and if you don't want/can change the .vimrc file, just write :syntax on -- Mads Martin Jørgensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort." -- A. P. J.
