Hello all I don't know if this topic has been already treated (in that case, don't kill me ;-)) I installed SuSE 9.1 on my notebook. During the installation yast detected the internal modem and installed smartlink package. Well, if I query the modem (kppp) it answers, but when I try a connection this fails with NO DIALTONE message. Obviously that modem works fine under XP. Ciao emilio

Disable the "Wait for dialtone" option. You need to do this with many winmodems.

Yes, it has been designed for Windows, so you would expect it to work under Windows. -- Andre Truter | Software Engineer | Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 | AIM: trusoftzaf | http://www.trusoft.za.org ~ A dinosaur is a salamander designed to Mil Spec ~
