*whine* Daddy ..Big bad Microsoft has so much power what shall I do.
This article reads like that little kid who asks his parents how he can stop a bully..heh. I would say to the kid/general public..stop acting like sheep and stand up for yourself...withhold the dollars and write your Gov. officals. It's rediculous how people just bow down or better yet bend over. http://www.nando.net/technology/story/20654p-388676c.html " But Microsoft could be back in court again if its critics are right about its new plans. That raises the question that vexes everyone outside Redmond, Wash.: Just what can be done about Microsoft and its power?" -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ----- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin
Those Redmond guys. Making friends all over the place; end-users, coporate, SOHO, and all the ammunition their giving the competition. This and their hope for booming sales looks marginal. How much did they spend in development? I just wonder if the appeallant court is listen. Cheers. Curtis. On Monday 04 June 2001 04:37 pm, Ben Rosenberg wrote:

It's rediculous how people just bow down or better yet bend over. In another post from you with subject "Re: [SLE] Who Owns Your Data?" you write "held by a man threatening to blow her head off if you buy anything from the salesman...I don't care if the mouse trap is revolutionary..." This seems to contradict what you are saying here. Whether we are sheep or not doesn't matter; that guy with the gun will win just as you say. So that woman with the gun to her head should be criticized if she complains about the gunman's strong arm tactics?

Whether we are ->sheep or not doesn't matter; that guy with the gun will win just ->as you say. So that woman with the gun to her head should be ->criticized if she complains about the gunman's strong arm tactics? No, actually..I'm paranoid. I would not have let the man into my house and if he got in then he would have met my dog and a gun of my own. I would try to never be in a position to be held in that way or to bend over and take it. Going down with a "fight" is acceptable in my book. I have put myself in hot water standing up for what I believe many times. Even when it seemed kinda hazardous to do so. I have a big mouth sometimes and I do say what's on my mind...whether it makes sense 1/2 of the time or not. At least I'm honest. As seperate statements the above to contradict themselves..but if you tie them together with " let her take the bullet and stand up to the bully..or you will bow down to anything." Most people will give in if you push them hard enough..but some won't...some will pay the price for freedom. It's kind of like the movie chicken run..they can put you in a pie, but if you are willing to fight and die to be free..that's all that matters I suppose. -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ----- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin
