This did not seem to have any effect on slrn's email habit of prepending the hostname to my address. slrn 0943 likes to see my FROM: address as mperry@mperry.basin.com all the time.
Thanks though.
Well try /etc/rc.config and edit FROM_HEADER="" to FROM_HEADER="mperry@basin.com" That's another option to try at least.
YES!!!! Thanks Dee. Much appreciated. I had only to include the stuff to the right of the @. Time for a beer. One thing, when I run /sbin/SuSEconfig, it does not make the change but I have to reboot the system to get the FROM_HEADER change included. Is this a normal thing? Just call me curious. I thot that SuSEconfig was dynamic.
