Hi, I am thinking about installing a Tiscali Broadband connection, but I notice that in their literature they mention only Windows (also MAC does not seem to be supported). Has anyone been able to use the service with Linux ? Thank you and best regards Mario Pesce

I've been using it since august 2002 with great success. The Tiscali connection you get in Denmark even have a section with the needed data for Mac/Linux people in the small print that comes with the thing. -- Mads Martin Joergensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogical, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A. IF you have an account here in Denmark at Tiscali its more than difficult to get free of it again. The only details I'll give here is, that it lasted more than one year to get rid of them. Don't know how it is abroad, but was my sad experience. Sorry for the OT, but thought it was worth thinking of. As you write mmj, as long as it is running there's no problems. -- /Erik

It happens here on some companies, specially "new" phone companies. You can contract them by phone, but to drop them they require you send a written fax... which is always busy, or they claim that they didn't receive anything. Quite some people have had to go to courts over it. But this is OT. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

Of course its OT. I also mentioned it, but couldn't let it be to help people to at least think twice before doing anything they'll maybe later regret. -- /Erik

Having an ADSL connection with BT, which is what you will probablly get with Tiscali, a modem and router package allows connection without any problems to any machine, Linux, Windows or any other. The modem used here is a Netgear DG824M, which is a combined ADSL modem, router and Wireless Access Point. HTH. LW999
