I'm having a problem with my Galeon browser. Since I updated my system yesterday and rebooted the browser opens too many times. Instead of opening once. It opens over and over again. It draws the window and before it can load any content it starts drawing another window. I've been up to 131 windows. It's not Galeon-I uninstalled and reinstalled it-same problem. Any ideas on how I can stop this behavior and get it back to behaving normally. Thanks Jerome

I can't say I have used Galeon, but I have experienced the same problem. Usually, and I couldn't tell you exactly where to look, programs install their preference file (mac term) in a different place. This file controls how the program acts and is the most likely culprit on a buggy program because they are so easy to corrupt.. Generally, when you un-install a program the preference fill is left in place so when you reinstall it is used by the program again and generally with the same results. Try removing the preference program and see what happens. Searching by date modified might help in the process. Sorry I don't have more precise help. Just a direction to look in. Someone will probably post something specific soon. It's still early. will
I am having the same problem. I thought it was possibly some new programs I
installed but my Suse installation has become so unstable, I am reinstalling
it now and starting over.

Hi all, I have seen this problem too. I got it working again with following tricks: - -close galeon (and mozilla) - -remove /opt/mozilla/components/compreg.dat (may have to be root) - -start mozilla, mozilla creates new file /opt/mozilla/components/compreg.dat - -check that mozilla works - -close mozilla - -change permissions of /opt/mozilla/components/compreg.dat to read only (-r--r--r-) - -start galeon to see if it works This helped me over 'multiple windows' problem with galeon. Hope that it helps someone else too. It has helped me! In this instance when I started mozilla it did not produce a new compreg.dat file. It doesn't seem to matter. Galeon is back to normal. Thank you Jari, Jerome
