Stupid Terminal Program question
All, I just bought a used NBX-100 PBX. I need to connect to its rs-232 port from a Linux admin PC to set the IP and other basic info. In the MS world, I would use hyperterminal. I've forgotten what the old command-line tool is "cu" from the uucp package?? I have not used that in years, but I remember it as a pain to setup. Is there a KDE/gnome that has hyperterminal like function? Greg -- Greg Freemyer The Norcross Group Forensics for the 21st Century

Get them from the ftp server. They are there: suse/apt/SuSE/9.2-i386/base $ zgrep minicom contlist.bz2 minicom;2.1-144.1;i586;base minicom;2.1-144.1;src;base -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

You might find 'pin' a very useful tool. It will search the ARCHIVES.gz file from the install CD/DVD (actually a copy of it in /var/lib/pin) for RPMs, files, or other text from package descriptions, etc. You don't need to start up Yast until you know what you want to install. Jim

If it's not on the CDs, it should be available from the SuSE site or mirrors.
Thanks guys. I've got connectivity. Now I'm on to the next problem, but the PBX is running VxWorks, so this is not the place to ask. Greg On 5/31/05, James Knott wrote:
