Did you also enable the xdmcp entry in http://susefaq.sourceforge.net/xwindownetworking.html on Togan's Unofficial FAQ?
Don't know if it's the right thing for your problem but it's best to do the basics first.

Paul, Well, with session errors you need to look at the logs ... Check /var/log/XFree86.0.log and /var/log/kdm.log. Don't forget the ever-useful /var.log.messages too.
