Fonts (truetype?) can't be read in Star Office 5.2
This may be a Star Office problem but from what I can find at Sun's Star Office site they say the fonts are taken from the font directories that X uses. So I'm trying here. Besides there community here seems to be one of the best working ones I've found on the Net. The font look OK in kword and in konqueror and semi-OK in netscape. The problem seems to be only in Star Office's text document editor. The fonts were fine and I had a problem when I did a Yast Online Update and did several things there to get back to running and this is the only thing I can't seem to get fixed. I have removed SO and reinstalled it (ala Windows) but that didn't fix the problem. Any ideas on were to look to fix the problem? -- Kurt R. There is some help in the StarOffice 5.2 help system on this. If you follow it very carefully, you might get truetype fonts to work. I found the easiest way was to convert the truetype fonts to type 1, which StarOffice 5.2 would use without difficulty - I did a google search for TTF to Type 1 conversions scripts and then found I had some of them installed already. StarOffice 6.0 is much better at handling truetype. JDL -- Non enim propter gloriam, diuicias aut honores pugnamus set propter libertatem solummodo quam Nemo bonus nisi simul cum vita amittit.
John, Thanks for the tip. I found the program on my 8.0 disk, although I don't remember the name, I did a program search for ttf Tom On Fri, 2002-06-28 at 00:21, John Lamb wrote: Kurt R.
