Sorry for top post, sent from blackberry.
What does zypper ref --force net you? Possibly corrupted cache?
I should have tried force, but forgot to. I finally got everything to install with zypper -up. Even after the update, the Yast SW mgmt. filter:repositories still does *not* show the packages and looks exactly like the screenshots provided in the last post. None of what I have seen explains why the packages are not shown or why 'zypper in' failed because at the time, the file "OpenOffice_org" was *not* installed on my system at all. I know about the new policykit backend problems, but do not know whether there have been changes that have slipped in to 11.0 or 10.3. I wish Novell would announce these type of changes. That was a problem _I_ had with the documentation and help of zypper.
11/29 - [opensuse-factory] People say RC1 is ready, but I have the latest on Factory and show 5.2
That was a problem with knowing which links are used for what. A lack of communication.

Your problem with OOo, was on 11.1 or on 11.0? Because the mails you list above are for factory. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
