Ganesh, my results are the same except that I am using Kaffeine, so my first one says network.protocol-handler.app.mms user set string /opt/kde3/bin/kaffeine
also see if Kaffeine will play the required mms stream directly without opening from a browser. i know gmplayer plays it directly using the URL.
Well I tried right clicking on the link and selecting "save as." But nothing happens. I don't get a screen that allows me to specify where to put the downloaded file, and I don't get any button to initiate the download process. It's as if the link is non-responsive to a right click.
So I can't download the clip and play it directly. Only way to play it is to click directly on the link, but of course we know that only results in the "mms is not a registered protocol" error message.
Thx. Gil Oops Sorry Gil, I have not played stuff with Kaffeine but with mplayer (or gmplayer) I can pass URLs to it to play on the command line or even using the GUI. In your case I would just copy the link location using Firefox and
