[SLE] Weird errormsgs after logging in
Hi, I have a strange problem I've been strugling with for weeks now, and I can't seem to solve it. I've altered /etc/profile in order to add another directory to the path mesntioned there. After I log in, this is what I get: Welcome to SuSE Linux 6.2 (i386) - Kernel 2.2.10 (pts/1). login: icarus Password: Last login: Wed Jan 19 02:00:16 from icarus.local.net Have a lot of fun! PATH = /usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/games/bin:/usr/games:/opt/gnome/bin:. bash: /usr/sbin:: No such file or directory icarus@gateway:~ > The path /usr/sbin DOES exist, user icarus has r-x rights in it, and still it gives this error. The directory I added isn't even mentioned! I've restored the original line from another Linux box, but this doesn't seem to solve anything. I have no user-settings, all are global. Please advise! Since you say you modified /etc/profile that would be my guess. rm> The path /usr/sbin DOES exist, user icarus has r-x rights in it, and rm> still it gives this error.
