Greetings I originally come from a fedora/REL background, I love synaptic, but am willing to part with it. Are there any "like" repos that I can use with the SUSe update tool. If there are! Could someone give please me a few to start with? I am looking for mplayer (for mencoder) and transcode, libdvdcss etc... Any help is much appreciated Chad

I get my rich multimedia goodness from adding the following to my Installation source in YaST: http://packman.iu-bremen.de/suse/9.2 -- __________ CorvusE Linux User #370082

You can add another source for YaST install/remove software. Open Yast go into change installation source and add and http source as: site: packman.iu-bremen.de dir : suse/9.2 (or which ever version you are using) Move it to the top of the list and start install/remove software and any newer versions that packman has should be there, you may have to use the search function. As far as libdvdcss goes you will have to go to the pacman site, hint:google. Search for dvdcss and follow the directions. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 * Only reply to the list please* "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

Why part with it? Use apt with SuSE! http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/ -- James Ogley james@usr-local-bin.org GNOME for SuSE: http://usr-local-bin.org/rpms
