Error printing jpeg's via cups
when i try to print a image (jpeg photo) from my suse 10.0 box to my HP Lj4 connected to the cups server i get a postscript init printed on the first line, and then a multitude of blank papers. If i print the same pic from Windows i get the image correctly. Where shall i start to look for errors? -- /Rikard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- email : rikard.j@rikjoh.com web : http://www.rikjoh.com mob: : +46 (0)763 19 76 25 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >

Start with correct page size and proper printer identification. Does a test print work properly?

Yes it does. I tried using the printermanager on the workstation. It prints the "Printer Test Page" It makes a nice color wheel and 1 degree radial lines et the top and text at the bottom. I can, from the settings in the printermanager, see that it is a HP LaserJet 4L, running CUPS+Gimp-Print v4.2.5 It is set for A4 printing, which is correct. So i know that printing from workstation is functional. Also if i testpage from the webinterface (printerserver:631 ) it also prints a nice test page. -- /Rikard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- email : rikard.j@rikjoh.com web : http://www.rikjoh.com mob: : +46 (0)763 19 76 25 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >
