I have a SuSE 8.1 system. Twice now this week, I have awakened the system from the screensaver(simple black screen) to find all windows painted on desktop 1, and the window manager 'frame' missing from all windows. In each case, logging out of KDE and re-starting X brought back the window manager. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone know a workaround less disruptive than restarting X? The system has been updated recently with fou4s and YOU. This happened to me just yesterday. This was the first time though so I can't complain. Victor
Good day Rick,

Yes. Once some time during the past 6 months. I forgot when, so it's not a recurring problem here.
Does anyone know a workaround less disruptive than restarting X?
You can simply restart the window manager. Press Alt+F2, write 'kwin', press enter. Best regards :o) Johnny :o)
