For once I tend to agree, this link is so OT as to be on a different planet, (I am not too certain how an Arkansas child support court case is relevant to anything penguin shaped) but I am not prepared to set my self up as some sort of list vigilante on this issue. There does come a point when this kind of vigilante evangelism is potentially more irritating than the original post... Maybe we need new list, opensuse-soapbox.org anyone... :-) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFGUCgyasN0sSnLmgIRAqy5AKCAGeq5F73PCh6a4d1JvVmsbXVqbwCgj+Wk M5vkPibgJssMJzLY3ywhFHk= =dKIW -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Maybe we just need for people to respect the intended function of the list. In the early days transgressors were dealt with swiftly, harshly and in great volume; remember the therm aoler. Today, it seems to be "someone else's job". Until people recognize the lack of order (proper use of the list), the "useless mess of [OT] posting" will continue. The "community meeting place" was designated opensuse-project. Offtopic is opensuse-offtopic. Opensuse@opensuse.org is for the discussion of technical issues dealing with the installation and maintenance of openSUSE. You do not urinate in the street (I hope), you use the provided facilities. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 OpenSUSE Linux http://en.opensuse.org/ Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

and all other questions that new users may have, and redirection to specialized lists if appropriate, ie. user would better served there. To make room for new users was reason to move community related discussions to opensuse-project list. I'm for relaxed atmosphere where not each OT comment will be banned, but it is time to start pushing massive OT discussions from this list. Would that annoy somebody, probably yes, but it is right thing to do. -- Regards, Rajko. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Actually, GT Smith, it is more on topic than you think, in that first off, I need to check the contents of my klipper before I do a cut-copy-paste job. THIS was the article that I was referring to: http://cbs4.com/entertainment/local_story_137115622.html The Arkansas child support story was something completely unrelated Anyway, I pulled up that story, then started looking through my games, just thought it was an odd one (and a slow news day at that matter) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

NO, it is still OT and you even advertise the fact in the Subject: line. It belongs in opensuse-offtopic@opensuse.org. Why do you insist on bringing offtopic into the opensuse users list? -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 OpenSUSE Linux http://en.opensuse.org/ Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes, yours. You set a fine example, top-posting, full quoting including sigs *and* bitching about bitching.
Get over it.
