WIthout a doubt, as a non-programmer, enduser with SuSE since 6.4 and fumbling until I came across this list. I have not had *ONE* problem with SuSE 8.0. I though I had with nvidia, but simply changing monitors between tow desktops showed that 8.0 is SOLID from my viewpoint. I upgraded one machine, not one quirk, I fresh installed two, no one quirk. I bought the 49.95 USD$ version, so there is no question that 8.0 rocks. All of my machines, with the exception of my Compaq laptop (on which I did the upgrade) are homebrew machines I might add. Even installed on this box with an LG DVD-CDRW IDE drive, not one hiccup. I have watched these threads and I would say overall, 8.0 is very stable for an .0 release. My $0.02 worth... Keith B. If you doubt SuSE's tech support because of the rants that are expressed here..that's just wrong. It's a flame war a week here.. *laugh* ..I don't think I've ever seen 100% satisfaction with anything software related ever. :)
I've been playing with SuSE 8.0 for the last few days helping my Linux newbie officemate configure his 2nd workstation and I think it's damn slick. You will most likely have a good time with it..if you remember it's software created by humans for humans and nothing is 100% perfect. :)
