i think those folders you're not seeing are not dovecot's IMAP folders, but folders created by some other mail program, pine or kmail or whatever. those you can't access via other mail clients; only your IMAP folders.
Pine running on the laptop, via imap, sees all the folders in the desktop machine (the one that runs dovecot). Why can not Thunderbird see the same? Notice that all of them are existing, old folders. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Sorry for the basic question: Are the folders subscribed to from Thunderbird. Depending on the IMAP server and client combination you might need to do that I think. Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

How do you subscribe to a folder? I have never done that. I use imap servers on my ISP, on gmail, on a local, old computer, using wu-imap... All the folders appeared in thunderbird, on any computer. I have no idea how to subscribe to a folder. Not with Pine, not with thunderbird. Look, I've just started (first time) Evolution on the laptop, connecting to dovecot on the server. It sees all folders. Let me see, this is new to me... [...] Wow. There is a "subscribe" contextual menu on the main folder! :-O I confess that it is the first time I see this... O:-) - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. Look at the account settings, somewhere it's called "Manage subscriptions". -- Per Jessen, Zürich (3.7°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
