Are you trying to sub to the suse-kde list or some list run by the kde.org folks? If you want to sub to the suse run list then I would suggest visiting suse's website to do this. :) -- "There is no need to teach that stars can fall out of the sky and land on a flat Earth in order to defend religious faith."

it's Secure Sockets Layer. It's an encryption layer. http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/S/SSL.html -- "There is no need to teach that stars can fall out of the sky and land on a flat Earth in order to defend religious faith."

Try again using a virgin profile. If that fails, try Konq or Mozilla. If that fails, complain to your ISP. -- "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg. Linux User #211409 Felix Miata *** http://members.ij.net/mrmazda/

Managed to subscribe by using another "user" on my system. I have since found other pages that give me the SSL message and have been playing with Firefox for over an hour and I cannot create a new "profile" for myself. Can you give me a hint please ?? Bob S.

It's there and answers specifically your question. Not my problem if you refuse to make an effort to read. Now, if you cannot understand it, say so and I will underline and highlight the command for you. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos

OK, OK, OK, You're right. And I didn't refuse to make an effort. I probably read it 4 times before I realized what was necessary to do. And now I made a new profile after about an hour of editing and changing to restore all of my old settings. Finally, now that will work without the "SSL Not Installed" message". Just don't understand what happens to cause this crazy stuff. Some of these things are almost as cryptic as you are Patrick. Anyway, thanks a lot and you and yours have a Merry Christmas. Bob S.

There was *no* intention of being 'cryptic'. There was only two lines with 'profile' mentioned and I thought you would recognize what you were looking for. Many other app's have the same type help output. And, as the elderly radio announcer whose name excapes me at the moment (Olden-Timers[tm]), now you know the rest of the story. Or at least you know how to get the information yourself.
Anyway, thanks a lot and you and yours have a Merry Christmas.
And to you and yours and to all a "Good Night". -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos

Hi Patrick, I remember my Dad listening to Paul Harvey and me hanging on for dear life in the back seat of the family car -- circa '60-'64. You're comment triggered the memory, so I went poking around. Gee, it's sure hard to believe he's still going strong after all these years...
From an oped piece:
Paul Harvey reached audiences way beyond the windy city in 1951, when he began his coast-to-coast "News and Comment" on the ABC Radio Networks.
On May 10, 1976, Mr. Harvey began another series of programs on the ABC Radio Networks entitled "The Rest of the Story", which delve into the forgotten or little known facts behind stories of famous people and events.
Today, Paul Harvey "News and Comment" and "The Rest of the Story" can be heard every Monday through Saturday.
Paul Harvey News is the largest one-man network in the world, consisting of over 1200 radio stations, 400 Armed Forces Network stations that broadcast around the world, and 300 newspapers.
Paul Harvey's reach continues to broaden in the 21st Century, as "News and Comment" is streamed on the world wide web twice a day.
Mr. Harvey is married to the former Lynne Cooper of St. Louis. They have one son, Paul Jr.
Here's his website: http://www.paulharvey.com/ Thanks for the recollection & Merry Christmas! - Carl
