Hi folks, Here's another thing that's really gettin' to me. I got online earlier to go to ebay just to browse around and waste some time. When I opened konqueror and there was no URL typed in the location bar, I had the top bar with the drop-down menus (all text stuff above the 'back' and forward' and etc. buttons bar) right where it was supposed to be...at the top of konqueror. As soon as I typed in an URL, konq started to go there, and as soon as it arrived, the top bar just disappears. It's not in the right-click tool bar menu at all. How do I get my konqueror to act right again? I've made no adjustments to it for better than a week now, so it wasn't because I was piddlin' with anything, heh. Using SuSE 9.2 with all YOU updates except the kernel (dialup sucks!). John

Look at Settings->Toolbars->Location toolbar. Is it checked?

Yessir, it's checked, but I don't think I explained very well the 'bar' that's missing...sorry. The location bar and the icon/buttons bar remains when I go to a website, it's just the bar above those two that disappears once I first go to a site. The bar has 'Location' 'Edit' 'View' 'Go' 'Bookmarks' 'Tools' 'Settings' 'Window' and 'Help' ...all text only and no quotes of course. That's the bar that just disappears when I go to the first URL. In other words, I can't open my bookmarks or settings in konq, because the menu's are gone after I go to the first site after opening konq. Really very frustrationg and as I said, just started happening out of the blue. John

Ah, sorry, I misread your mail. Does it happen on all sites or just one site in particular? Does hitting CTRL+m bring the menubar back?

Well, for other reasons, I had to reboot the system, and now things are fine again with it. To answer your first question though, it happened with any site. I'll keep the second question in mind, just in case it starts to happen again. Sorry for the wasted time, Anders, but I sure appreciate your help. I'll let you know if it happens again and CTRL+m does anything. John

I don't know anything about your specific problem but you might want to try these updates for kde (they don't show up in YOU): ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.2/ A couple of other people and I had problems with amarok which got fixed in these updates.
