Good suggestion. I read the notes in the configuration files, and changed this: FW_ALLOW_FW_BROADCAST="yes" # Common: ssh smtp domain FW_SERVICES_INT_TCP="ssh smtp 9925 80 139" # Common: domain syslog FW_SERVICES_INT_UDP="139" actually, I don't really know whether to open port 139 in TCP or UDP . But I still can't see the samba server in NNeighborhood after restarting the firewall... fx -- ______________________ Courtesy of SuSE Linux nibz.org

Did you run SuSEconfig after editing the config file? Dylan -- "Sweet moderation Heart of this nation Desert us not We are between the wars" Billy Bragg

Here you need 137 and 138.

TCP

Restarting the firewall, i.e. SuSEfirewall2 stop, then SuSEfirewall2 start, is all. No need for SuSEconfig. Hope this gets you going. BTW, you can run "tail -f /var/log/firewall to check if your firewall is the culprit as to what is blocking your seeing your shares. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
