[opensuse] Playing online media
Normally I don't have any problems playing embedded videos... using Firefox (1.5.0.7) and the latest MPlayer (plus the w32codecs and mplayerplugin). Recently I've noticed that MPlayer isn't able to pickup and play the embedded video anymore. Case in point.... https://www.jumptv.com/en/channel/kbc/ I'd like to check out what's on offer and watch KBC in Linux. In my setup, this doesn't work. I'm sure if "can" work if I can figure out what's wroing with my MPlayer setup. But... as a first step, is anyone able to play the sample video on this site? Yep it plays just fine here. Using a centrino with SUSE 10.1, and the following packages: mplayerplug-in-3.25-0.pm.7 MPlayer-1.0pre8-8.pm.svn20060811 MozillaFirefox-2.0-41.1 Mpl* was obtained through packman and Firefox was from the build service. Hmmm it would seem then that I have some issues on my computer... probably all introduced by me tinkering. I am using the MPlayer builds from Packman as well. Couple symptoms (things that did work at some point in 10.1) - MPlayerplugin does not load embedded video anymore. Games installed in Cedega no longer have any sound. I don't really care if there is no sound in Cedega. That's not a big deal... I mention it because it may be related. Mplayer not working correctly is annoying though. When I go to this page - or any page with embedded video, the MPlayer plugin loads, shows a message about contacting server, then a message about buffering... and then stops. I can press play on the control at the bottom of the mplayerplugin... repeats the same and stops. Since the page does work in SUSE 10.1, the next question is... Where to start sorting this out? Any suggestions? 32 bit. But I have a computer at home, and might try it there also, although only in about 8h to 10h from now. Yes. No problems here. FF 1.5.07 and 2.0 work fine on 10.0. I'm not sure what version of MPlayer I have. According to YaST, I have the player 1.0pre8-8.pm.svn20060811 (whatever the heck that means) and the plugin version 3.25-0.pm.7 (again whatever numbering that is). -- kai www.perfectreign.com || www.4thedadz.com a turn signal is a statement, not a request --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
