Re: [SLE] Configure MySQL for InnoDB
Hi, What did it for me was to uninstall the whole server and then reinstall by choosing the max version and the server. It is some sort of a config problem not sure exactly. Good luck. George --- devosc <devosc@gmail.com> wrote:
Hi,
I wonder if some could help advise how to get MySQL to run with InnoDB support. Having MySQL already installed I then installed mysql-MAX via YaST2, and uncommented the InnoDB settings in etc/my.cnf, restarting mysql via YaSTS2 run-level editor, mysql seemed to restart ok. But I don't think InnoDB support has been enabled, and so I thought I might try and restart mysql via the command prompt, however when I did ~mysqld --help I got the following msg:
mysqld: ERROR: unknown variable 'innodb_data_home_dir=/var/lib/mysql/'
From the above I was looking for the cmd to restart like mysql-max-nt ???
The default uncommented settings are below.
# Uncomment the following if you are using InnoDB tables innodb_data_home_dir = /var/lib/mysql/ innodb_data_file_path = ibdata1:10M:autoextend innodb_log_group_home_dir = /var/lib/mysql/ innodb_log_arch_dir = /var/lib/mysql/ # You can set .._buffer_pool_size up to 50 - 80 % # of RAM but beware of setting memory usage too high innodb_buffer_pool_size = 16M innodb_additional_mem_pool_size = 2M # Set .._log_file_size to 25 % of buffer pool size innodb_log_file_size = 5M innodb_log_buffer_size = 8M innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit = 1 innodb_lock_wait_timeout = 50
