[opensuse] FireWall Settings??
Hi all, When I try to use jDownloader I get this error: JDownloader not responding on http://localhost:9666/flashgot! Please check your firewall settings. Would someone tell me how to check my firewall settings? I don't think I even have the firewall turned on. I'm using SuSE 11.2 Thanks, JIM -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The opensuse firewall does not stop outgoing connections, only incoming. And then, it is not configured per application, but per port. You have to determine, reading the documentation of jDownloader, what ports it needs opened. I don't use that app, so I don't know. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Ok, I get this. But my question is how to open port 9666. I've never used YaST to do this and its not clear. Thanks, JIM -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Go to 'allowed services', hit 'advanced', enter the port(s) in tcp (or udp) - they're space separated - hit OK, Next, Finish As long as you don't need complicated stuff, the YaST interface to configure SuSEfirewall is pretty simple. /jon -- YMMV -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
