[opensuse] KDE setting for the shape of tabs?
Is there a way of getting the nicely rounded tabs back? I really don't like the square boxes with the blue top bar. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (17.1°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Do You mean System Settings | Appearance | Application Style, and other settings from the Appearance section? Some styles can be installed - search the button with star and text like "Get New ...", or from packages. -- Vojtěch Zeisek Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux https://www.opensuse.org/ https://trapa.cz/

I mean the shape of the tabs in Firefox or Thunderbird. Looking at my 42.3 laptop, they are nicely rounded, bell-curve style. Looking at 15.1, they are square boxes, with a blue bar indicating the active one. I am using the same settings in 42.3 and 15.1. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (18.2°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thats what I have in 15.0, under XFCE. I think they change if I change the theme in XFCE, not sure. [testing] No, other windows have the blue bar on bottom. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Per, That's a FF thing if I understand you. Mozilla stripped all css from FF and Tbird that provided rounded tabs after the 52 version. FF 60+ has block square tabs (that look like crap). They did that for Win10 that no longer provides a titlebar so the tabbar in windows takes it's place (it looks alright in windows), but the lack of shape is punctuated in a WM that provides a tittlebar. -- David C. Hi David I see it in FF and TB both. Same tabs, difficult to quickly tell which one is the active one.

so no way of restoring the nice rounded tabs, huh. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (10.7°C) http://www.cloudsuisse.com/ - your owncloud, hosted in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

When they first did it, there was an add-on that restored the rounded tabs, but I see that I now have square tabs like you so maybe the add-on stopped working. I've no idea whether there is a current method of adjusting the appearance, sorry. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Try https://github.com/wilfredwee/photon-australis First you have to change the setting toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets and set it to true. You may have to edit the userPrefs to create it first :-) -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Nope, I even wrote a bug about it, and somebody posted a whole slew of css I could use to try and manually restore the look, but Mozilla wasn't putting it back in. I just said forget it at that point. Now I just live with the dumbed-down FF/TB interface. -- David C. No, I have just done a brand new installation, it seems to be the default. I'll check out the themes. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (16.9°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'm using the default openSUSE themes, I have only changed the task switcher. Do you have nicely rounded (bell-curve style) tabs in e.g. Firefox? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (18.4°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

no, I do not. Guess it never bothered me that much :) look at kde-gtk settings Application Style -> GNNOME/GTK Application Style I believe that is what mozella uses -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I believe that is what mozella uses It does. So the Breeze GTK theme must have changed.
