Did you install glib 1.2.8 with "make install"?
And if you did, did you do "ldconfig" afterwards? :) J. | John Patterson / Jarel on Snowplains (telnet to snowplains.org 3456) | | Email: jarel@snowplains.org | Web: http://snowplains.org/~jarel/ | <p> -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq

Missed something there, added an X in front of the libraries in the error message.
After doing the make install and ldconfig for glib, it is reporting the correct version now. BUT I am getting another error:
*** X libraries or include files not found. Check 'config.log' for *** more details
In the config.log:
Warning implicit declaration of function 'XtMalloc' /usr/i486-suse-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lXt
This was the only thing that looked like an error, but I am not sure what this means?
Thanks! CK
You miss the shared library libXt.so.
Install the xdevel package (series x).
Regards...
