Hi, I just installed OpenOffice 1.1.0 and tried to print a document. The screen freezes for quite a while with CPU usage sitting on 100%. After about 2 minutes it does print the document. Also I have noticed that there is the same problem if you change printer settings. I just wonder if anyone else has noticed this behavour, before I go digging any further. This problem was not in OpenOffice 1.1.0 Beta versions. -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------

I have a similar problem. OO responds very very slowy to anything I do and i have to restart to fix it. I mean it takes 2-3 minutes for it to register I have clicked on a menu for example. I don't know why this occurs. Sometimes it starts okay, then does this after a while beind idle George On Thursday 02 October 2003 21:07, Graham Smith wrote:

Are you running something CPU heavy in the background, like setiathome maybe? Hans

I don't seem to be having any of the problems you guys mention here. OO1.1 starts up quickly and I have tried both documents and spreadsheets. Printing is fine from either as is loading MS word files. Haven't tried saving to PDF or Flash yet, but feel comfortable in saying, I think that will work equally as well. Can you go back to the last release canidate and clear up your problems or do they persist? Have you tried eliminating your ~/.sversionrc file and starting OO fresh? Looks like it is something to do with font handling. I will do some digging latter tonight and see if I can work out whats going wrong. BTW, I had completely removed the old OO1.1beta version along with the ~/.sversionrc file before installing the new version. Might have to download one of the older release canidates and see f the problem is still there. Might be something I have installed thats interacting with OO. Although when I ran into the problem I had no other software running except KDE 3.1.4 base. -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------

There is a new stable release 1.1 on the openoffice.org site. The rc's always seemed to be problematic, especially over lans. Maybe worth a try.
