If you have the Pro disks, you ought to have paper copies! --dm At 14:11 05/27/2002 +0200, Jim Hatridge wrote:

In 8.0 the reference manuals have been moved to an rpm labelled suselinux-reference_en-8.0.0.2-39 .i386.rpm on CD1 under suse/doc1. This installs the .pdf and html versions under /usr/share/doc/packages/suselinux-reference_en HTH On Monday 27 May 2002 5:11 am, Jim Hatridge wrote:

Wait the box still seemed very heavy when I hefted it at CompUSA..... I did not buy it then, so I do not know,......what manuals ARE in it if the reference manuals are not? Regards Forrest On Mon, 27 May 2002 14:47:22 -0700, a large badger frolicked about on your keyboard, and out came:

In the pro version you've got three manuals : basics, applications and reference. Francis

Yet if you look up the PCMCIA subsytem in the reference it makes a short comment then tells you that more detailed information is available in the reference !!! F

I can see that they are packing as much as they can in each disk. BUT this is not a good idea. Here I am needing to find something in the manual so that I can install 8.0, but I can't read the manual until I've got it installed. Does the guys at SuSE know what catch 22 is? What are us Trittbrettfahrer to do? <G> JIM -- Jim Hatridge Linux User #88484 ------------------------------------------------------ BayerWulf Linux System # 129656 The Recycled Beowulf Project Looking for throw-away or obsolete computers and parts to recycle into a Linux super computer
