have u tried KInternet together with smpppd? I found that /etc/resolv.conf is empty whereas /etc/ppp/resolv.conf contains the DNS entries for my ISP. Presumably this is put in effect when smpppd detects starts pppd following a dial-on-demand request such as starting a browser. I am a relative nebie myself but I seem to recall that I had to `chown -R root:dialout /etc/ppp` so that other users could use DoD. I hope this helps at least start you in the right direction. I'm sure someone out there can explain it much better/further :) Regards, Sylvanus A. Hello SuSE folk;
Too obvious for me I guess. Must be going right over my head. Same topic different thread. SuSE 8.0
Still trying to get my apps, Konq, Kmail, FTP client, etc. to run once I am connected to my ISP. KPPP is up and running and connected - As a user when I try to connect any of these apps I get the message....Host "YourISP" unknown.. When I am running as root I can get Konq to connect. (Don't have the other apps as root)
WHAT am I missing here? Please help......
