[opensuse] A tool for YaST repositories - YaSTRS.
I've made a tool similar to Mandriva's easyurpmi, but for YaST. It allows the user to specify his Suse version and architecture, displays a list of known repositories for the specific system, let's the user pick the repositories his interested in, and generates a shell script to add them to his local machine. All mirrors are automatically validated on a daily basis. Currently most available repositories are for 10.2, you are all welcomed to use the tool, and add more repositories to it. The tool is available at: http://www.hardon.co.il/yastrs/ -Amir. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi Amir. Nice idea.
There are a few mirrors for my "guru" repository out there, and I would
recommend using them as they're generally (a lot?) faster than gwdg.de:
http://ftp.skynet.be/pub/suser-guru/rpm/10.2/RPMS
http://anorien.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/opensuse/guru/10.2/RPMS
http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/suser-guru/rpm/10.2/RPMS
(of course, also for older SUSE versions)
cheers

Before installing it, woudl this supplant YAST/SMART or replace the tool(s)? Also, is it like URPMI in that you have to use the CLI? IIRC when I was on Mandrake, I used the CLI to do all my installs from urpmi. -- kai Free Compean and Ramos http://www.perfectreign.com/?q=node/46 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
