[opensuse] Low memory, what is that ?
A small problem bothers me. During boot I just saw a small info flashing by, saying error with low memory c000bd3c.. Wrote down the memory address but the rest of the text is just from memory (my memory ;) ). That machine with no direct tasks for now, is running memtest. It does not show any bad memory after 5 passes and will let it run the rest of the night to be sure of its condition.. Is the memory address I wrote down to be found on my two DDR2 memory modules and should memtest give some more info? -- Linux User 183145 using KDE4 and LXDE on a Pentium IV , powered by openSUSE 20150815 (x86_64) Kernel: 4.1.4-1-desktop KDE Development Platform: 4.14.10 23:28pm up 2 days 10:23, 3 users, load average: 0.22, 0.32, 0.41 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I think that message meant that the process running had exhausted available memory, rather than the memory being faulty. There could be any number of reasons why memory available would be inadequate during boot, (large ram drives, etc), but quite frankly that seems unusual. -- Sent from my Android phone with K-9 Mail.
